The Climate Change Woes of a Monster Doctor

An Open Letter from Dr. Frankenstein

Dear Citizens,

As I toil in my lab, I feel compelled to address a pressing concern: climate change. Recently, I powered my lab with solar energy, thanks to Bedford 2030’s Energy Coach—no fossil fuels involved. Yet, I still encounter the effects of climate change.

1) Summer travel is a nightmare. Preventing prying eyes from discovering the peculiar cargo I transport is a Herculean task. And when temperatures rise, the stench of my creations becomes positively noxious.

2) Resource scarcity. With the relentless march of extinction, procuring the rare ingredients I need for my monstrous experiments is becoming increasingly perilous.

3.) Unscheduled Reanimations. The tumultuous storms of our time mean increased power surges and outages—not ideal in my line of work.

These are just to name a few.

Building a sustainable future requires community and collaboration. We can unite—regardless of our beliefs (that monsters are people, too)—through grassroots movements like Bedford 2030. Let’s focus on solutions and confront the real threat: fossil fuels.

Join me in embracing renewable energy and making informed choices. Together, we can face the true terrors of our time and create a greener monster—I mean future.

Yours in science,
Dr. Victor Frankenstein
