Your yard can be part of a climate solution. Our Rooted Solutions Coaches can show you how — at no cost!

Do you want a healthier, more sustainable landscape, but aren't sure where to start?

A Rooted Solutions coach will meet with you on your property* to answer your questions and help you meet your specific goals for a beautiful, climate-smart space. The session is provided compliments of Bedford 2030, so no payment is required. We only ask that you fill out a brief survey after your coaching session and, of course, donations are gratefully accepted!

* Please note that on-site sessions are limited to properties in the Bedford Central and Katonah-Lewisboro school districts at this time.

This is the Rooted Solution logo which is a tree and roots spread long.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill out this form to let us know you are interested in a coaching session and your top priority on your landscape (planting natives, reducing fertilizer use, starting a vegetable garden, converting lawn to meadow, etc).
  2. Bedford 2030 will follow up with you to schedule a one hour appointment based on your needs and our coaches’ availability. We will match you with a coach best suited to your goals.
  3. You will fill out a questionnaire listing your objectives, concerns and preferences so that your coach can make the most of your time together. Upon completion, a calendar link automatically appears and you can schedule your one hour complimentary coaching session.
  4. Following your in-person consultation, your coach will send a written report containing personalized recommendations based on your meeting. Please don’t forget to fill out our follow up survey!

Meet our Rooted Solution Coaches

A sustainable landscape is healthier for people as well as the environment. Here are our top high impact tips for reducing greenhouse gasses, preserving natural resources, increasing biodiversity, supporting pollinators and protecting wildlife.

  1. Eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides
  2. Ditch polluting, fossil fuel powered lawn equipment and go electric!
  3. Care for existing trees, remove invasives and plant more native species
  4. Transition to more sustainable lawn maintenance practices
  5. Compost your yard waste – and food scraps too!

HERE is a resource directory filled with reliable sources of information. The last page contains local contractors and suppliers to support you in cultivating a beautiful, climate-smart yard. It was compiled based on suggestions from partners and community members. However, Bedford 2030 makes no warranties of any kind, whether expressed or implied, for any of the local landscape companies or service providers listed. The list is provided as a courtesy, it is not exhaustive and not intended to be a recommendation.
