LEADERSHIP + INNOVATION
High School Contest to Catalyze Change
Since 2015, over 500 students from 15 different Westchester high schools and community groups have been inspired to take action in their communities with support from the Greenlight Award® Program.
Here’s how it works:
- Step 1: Fill out the 2026-2027 Greenlight Interest Form to access the first part of the Toolkit information. Find a team if desired; Brainstorm idea(s).
- Step 2: Register your Project/Team to formally enter the program, receive a rubric and guidelines, and start working on your big green advocacy or innovation idea to address climate change.
- Step 3: Pitch a Big Green Idea at the Proposal Showcase. Greenlight Award® contestants create a proposal and pitch their projects to a panel of local climate action professionals and experts.
- Step 4: Greenlight Go! The best ideas receive funding and support to help our community reach its climate action goals through your project implementation.
- Step 5: Demonstrate Impact at the Finals. Students showcase their results and compete to win the Greenlight Award® and $500 cash!
