Are you good at fixing things and passionate about the environment? Come volunteer with us for the Repair Café we’re hosting this September!
Most modern commercial products are designed to wear down quickly, forcing consumers to constantly buy replacements. The international Repair Café movement was invented as an accessible and eco-friendly alternative. Each Café runs on the diligent volunteer work of experienced local “fixers” with diverse specialties. Whenever the Café holds a meeting, visitors bring in damaged items ranging from bikes to lamps to dresses to laptops, and it’s up to the fixers to mend them. As a bonus, volunteers and guests alike get to enjoy some delicious refreshments! What’s not to love?
As passionate supporters of the #zerowaste movement, we are proud to announce the revival of our own Café. The first meeting will be held at the Bedford Hills Depot (46 Depot Plaza) on September 26.
