We are thrilled to welcome friends, family, and community members to the 6th annual Greenlight Award finals! This year, they will be hosted on Zoom on Saturday April 17th from 9:00am-11:00am.
Since last fall, regional high school students have been hard at work developing and implementing projects to address an environmental problem and catalyze behavior change. After receiving feedback from expert judges at the proposal showcase in December, an impressive 20 teams received the “green light” to put their projects into action.
At this finals event, students will be presenting to panels of expert judges and competing for a $500 prize and the Greenlight Award. The presentations will be broken into two sessions, depending on which idea track the team pursued – advocacy or innovation.
Projects this year include:
Advocating for electric school buses
Redesigning rings on plastic bottles
Educating on sustainable lawn practices
Creating a greenway to link Pound Ridge and Bedford
Organizing an event for safe pharmaceutical disposal
