Congratulations and thank you to the citizens of Bedford for making another year of 100% renewable energy in our community possible!
Since 2016 the Town of Bedford has enabled residents to have 100% green electric supply through the Westchester Power CCA program and the great news is that is has been renewed! Even better, you don’t need to do anything. You get your electric bill from your utility and the supply will be green – just like that!* But if you opted out in the past, you may want to opt back in.
The amount of emissions that residents of the town of Bedford have saved by being in the Westchester Power CCA since 2016 is equivalent to taking 11,797 passenger cars off the road for one year. This program is one of the most important ways that Bedford has been able to achieve amazing environmental results making our air healthier and our planet safer.
Look for the letter about the renewal of the green supply in your mailbox. NYSEG customers should receive a letter this week and ConEd customers will get their letter in a week or two. The letter announces the company that will supply the green electricity (Eligo for NYSEG and Constellation for Con Ed) for the next phase of the program and how your bill still comes from your utility. Again, you don’t need to do anything but feel good about green electricity coursing through your home.
Thank you to everyone using green electricity with Westchester Power!

*Unless you have opted out in the past or have a different arrangement like day/night rates or a contract with a different ESCO.
